An awkward, closed-off kitchen gets a whole new layout

When your house is the go-to gathering place for friends and family, you’ve got to have a kitchen that’s designed for entertaining. Claire Jefford, owner and certified interior decorator at Creating Contrasts Designs, teamed up with interior designer Karen Dunn to transform the ground floor of this Burlington, Ontario home for a professional couple.

The open plan kitchen features an elongated island with a built-in wine rack and Carrara marble backsplash arranged in a herringbone pattern, while the eating area includes custom bench seating. Check out before and after footage of this incredible eat-in kitchen makeover and get designer tips on how to maximize storage space.

Be sure to tune in next week to see the living room and entryway update.
