Markham Square Condos by Ideal Developments and ONEPIECE Developments is coming soon to Markham’s booming urban centre. Combining the conveniences of urban living with small town comforts, the development is situated within proximity to businesses, educational institutions and recreational areas. The two-tower community is now accepting registrations for the first phase, with a second phase following soon. To learn more about the project, BuzzBuzzNews recently visited the presentation centre for an exclusive sneak peek.
Located at the corner of Enterprise Boulevard and Main Street, Markham Square consists of two modern towers rising 33- and 29-storeys into the sky. Designed by award-winning Kirkor Architect + Planners, the towers boast a contemporary stone exterior punctuated by expansive spans of glass at varying levels, creating a jewel box effect that will light up the Markham skyline at night. Wraparound glass balconies and cascading terraces further animate the two-tone exterior facade which merges harmoniously with the building’s surroundings.
At the base of the towers are a pair of multi-storey podiums surrounded by a landscaped courtyard and promenade designed by renowned landscape architecture firm NAK Design Strategies. Characterized by linear pavers, elongated seating and long drifts of native grasses, the outdoor space offers the perfect setting for quiet reflection or social interaction. The wide promenade with its large canopy of shade trees also create an elegant and well-defined gateway into the community.
The podiums will also house a mix of retail and commercial spaces easily accessible from Enterprise Boulevard, while even more amenities are just steps away including the the Markham Pan Am Centre. The world-class sports facility is directly across the street from Markham Square and features a 10-lane, 50-metre swimming pool, a 36,000-square-foot gymnasium and a multi-level fitness centre for cardio and strength training.
Also nearby is the site of York University’s new Markham campus. Developed in partnership with Seneca College, the City of Markham and the Regional Municipality of York, the 21st century campus is slated to open in 2019 and will welcome over 4,000 students.
Although Markham Square is within walking distance of an array of shopping, dining and entertainment attractions, the area is also well serviced by public transportation and major thoroughfares with easy access to Unionville GO Station, Highway 7 and Highway 407.
Priced from the $300,000s, suites at Markham Square feature open-concept living spaces, gourmet kitchens and private balconies or terraces as per plan.
Standard finishes include plank vinyl flooring, nine foot ceilings, granite or quartz countertops, soft-close cabinets and under cabinet lighting in kitchens.
In-house amenities include a hotel-style lobby with a 24-hour concierge and a grand circular staircase that leads to a mezzanine level library and lounge space with a gas fireplace. There’s also a fully equipped gym, yoga studio and a games room with foosball and billiards tables.
The beautifully landscaped rooftop lounge provides the ideal spot for entertaining friends and family and comes complete with an inviting central fireplace surrounded by communal seating. The amenity space was designed to be fluid with indoor and outdoor spaces that flow harmoniously together. A stunning indoor-outdoor bar seamlessly connects the rooftop to the luxuriously appointed party room and intimate dining area.
