Design professionals, they’re just like us! They may have access to 3D rendering software and a vast knowledge of products and materials, but when it comes to remodeling their own kitchens, they too begin their search on Pinterest.

Soon after purchasing a 1950s ranch home that was in desperate need of an update, interior stylist Jaclyn Colville stumbled across a pin of her self-described dream kitchen, with a bold navy blue island, gold hardware and a custom range hood. With a strict reno budget to adhere to and a baby on the way, she set out to design a similar space at a more wallet-friendly price.
