Toll Brothers was named the 2017 World’s Most Admired Home Building Company in a recent survey conducted by Fortune magazine. It was the third consecutive year the luxury home developer nabbed the prestigious title.

The 2017 Fortune survey of the World’s Most Admired Companies invited executives, directors and analysts from more than 50 industries and 28 countries to rate companies in their own field.

This year marks the 50th Anniversary of Toll Brothers, having been founded in 1967 by brothers Robert I. Toll and Bruce E. Toll. The company was founded in Pennsylvania, and today is active in 20 states, including New York, California, and DC.

Known primarily as a developer of high-end luxury homes, Toll Brothers actually builds a wide array of home types and communities, including — luxury rental apartments through Toll Brothers Apartment Living, high-end “urban” condos through Toll Brothers City Living, and even premier student housing through Toll Brothers Campus Living.

The developer believes in giving back to its communities, through such programs as Orangewood Children’s Home of Orange County, Wounded Warrior Project, and Bucks County Special Olympics Aquatics. In addition, Toll Brothers employees nationwide are encouraged to join their co-workers for a paid day of community service.

Since 2005, Toll Brothers has sponsored the Metropolitan Opera Saturday matinee radio broadcasts to help bring classical music to listeners worldwide. It is the longest-running continuous classical music program in radio history.

Some of Toll Brothers notable New York City developments include 55 West 17th, 121 E 22ND, Pierhouse at Brooklyn Bridge Park — which had the most expensive condo sale in Brooklyn’s history, and the newly announced 77 Charlton.

In addition to being named the 2017 World’s Most Admired Building Company, Toll Brothers previously was named Builder of the Year by Builder magazine in 2014, as well as the 2012 Builder of the Year by Professional Builder magazine.
