obsidianhouse_penthouse_interior New renderings are out for Knightsbridge PropertiesObsidian House at 93 Reade Street in Tribeca. Architecture firm WORKac is working to revive New York’s second-oldest cast iron building as three bright two-bedroom lofts and one double-height triplex loft penthouse.

Corcoran Group is handling sales for the project and prices will range from $2.95 million to $7.45 million.

The renderings showcase preserved architectural window framing and updated natural wood finishes. The penthouse boasts volumetric ceilings and a hidden roof terrace — complete with a spa tub. Open and warm interiors are an unexpected complement to the building’s historic, Italianate façade.

Obsidian House was built in 1857 by a member of New York’s prominent Jones family — the namesake for the common trope, “Keeping Up with the Joneses.”

You can check out the renderings below, along with BuzzBuzzHome’s recent photos of progress on the condo’s exterior.
