Last fall, Lifetime Developments launched the Connect and Capture photo contest to celebrate the success of The Bond Condominiums, currently under construction in the heart of Toronto’s Entertainment District.

People in the community were encouraged to submit photos of the Entertainment District using the #BondTO hashtag on Instagram while sharing what they found unique about the area. The developer also matched a $1 donation for each use of the hashtag to go towards Lifeline — a charitable foundation launched by Lifetime Developments — to provide aid and support for Toronto’s homeless and at-risk communities.

What resulted was an incredible collection of over 5,500 #BondTO submissions, 3,000 new Instagram followers and over 76,000 Instagram likes.

“The contest was a huge success and we received some absolutely amazing entries,” said Brian Brown, Vice President of Lifetime Developments.

“The photos captured a view of this city that was beyond our imagination and gave us, as developers, a truly remarkable perspective into how Torontonians really view and experience their city.”

The amazing photography generated by the contest went beyond the Entertainment District with some entries capturing other parts of the city from a different perspective showcasing Torontonians’ love and connection to their city.

“Through their eyes, we saw the buildings we see every day in a new light. The submissions captured a lot of love — beyond just people’s love for the Entertainment District, but for the whole city of Toronto,” added Brown.

Weekly prizes of a $50 gift card to a select restaurant were awarded between August and October 2014, while the grand prize — a new iPhone 6 — was awarded last Fall to @tylerpalubiski for his stunning photo of the Toronto skyline. Lifetime also plans to feature a selection of the entries throughout the common areas at The Bond Condos when completed in the summer of 2016.
