You can tell a lot about a new development by looking at the design team behind it. Take Oakford, for instance, a new upscale collection of detached homes nestled in an established Markham community.
Grandfield Homes‘ appointed award-winning architectural firm Hunt Design Associates Inc. and interior design company Jacqueline Glass & Associates to work their magic on the new project. Both firms have a tremendous amount of experience under their belt, which has led to an impressive list of accomplishments: Glass is a regular guest expert on CityLine and Hunt Design has won multiple BILD awards for architectural design.
With that said, it’s safe to assume future residents are in good hands. The community will house 48 units in total, many of which will boast a distinctive style. There will be six design series to choose from and 14 layouts that range from 3,300 to 4,013 square feet.
In designing the interior, Jacqueline Glass & Associates sought inspiration from European and American style design while also adding ultra-contemporary features and finishes. For this reason, the firm opted to combine soft white and bronze hues with darker shades to inject allure and texture into the project. Overall, each home will possess both modern and traditional elements that speak to a wide range of homebuyers.
In terms of its location, Oakford will sit on the edge of Willow Heights Park at Oakford Drive and Moss Creek Boulevard. Stephen Hunt, Principal at Hunt Design, currently lives in the neighbourhood and is familiar with the needs of the community.
Speaking of the surrounding neighbourhood, residents will be nearby vibrant green spaces, including large parks and golf courses. The new community will also be a five minute drive from major highways, schools, supermarkets, shopping malls and banks. Even more convenient: homeowners will be 10 minutes from Richmond Hill and the Centennial GO Station.
Those with children will also be impressed with the high number of schools in the district, including Lincoln Alexander Public School, which is less than five minutes away. In addition, the area is known for its myriad of extracurricular activities that are suitable for children and teens, such as the Oxford Learning Centre and the Angus Glen Community Centre and Library.
