Sunset views and a smart layout add to the many perks of the Massey Tower‘s recently selected “Suite of the Month.” Forward-thinking design firm Cecconi Simone set up the unit and designed all other interiors in MOD Developments‘ new 60-storey tower in downtown Toronto.
Priced at $440,000, the one-bedroom plus den measures 640-square feet. Thanks to a layout that emphasizes storage, there’s no wasted space in the unit. The Euro-style kitchen is outfitted with a pantry and a custom-designed island that doubles as a stow-away space for all those extra cooking knick-knacks and gadgets. The separate den can also double as an office or work space.
Perched on the 11th floor, the suite looks out over the western half of the core without any obstructions marring the view. The building itself is in a prime spot with easy subway access. The financial district is immediately west, the Rogers Centre is not far off and St. Lawrence Market is to the south. Shopoholics be warned: the new building is just across the street from the Eaton Centre and the wealth of shops along Queen Street West.
Next door to the development is the building’s namesake, Massey Hall. Mindful of the concert hall’s historic value and cultural legacy, MOD Developments donated a portion of Massey Tower’s land to the venue. This will enable Massey Hall to expand their space as well as restore the interior of the nearly 120-year old National Historic site.
