ArchDaily tallied 70,000 votes from their readers to find out what the best international buildings of 2012 were and the so-called Marilyn Monroe towers stole the top space in the housing category.
Developed by Cityzen Development Group and Fernbrook Homes and designed by MAD Architects, the skyline-defining project was lauded for challenging the status quo: in a world of homogenous, stick-straight towers, the condos flaunt their curves.
The crowd-sourced list of best buildings, which was announced earlier this month, deserves countless superlatives. After all, it features a semi see-through church, a loop-shaped skyscraper and a cinema covered by a permeable basket.
