From the Urban Development Institute’s luncheon last week to David Baxter’s Prescott Idea Series presentation, a major talking point when it comes to the Vancouver real estate is the impact baby boomers will have on the market.
This is why we’re so excited about an upcoming event hosted at Waterstone by HJ Properties on Saturday June 16th. Sarah Daniels, star of HGTV’s Urban Suburban and Psychologist Dr. Larry Anderson, will participate in a downsizing seminar.
Many of you will know Sarah Daniels as one of the long time hosts of the Global Morning News. But, her most recent passion is real estate. She participates in round table discussions on Urban Rush and is a monthly columnist for BC Mortgage Magazine. She’s also the author of two books.
Daniels says that “downsizing opens up so many possibilities but tackling the transition – from selling one’s longtime home to sorting through years of stuff and choosing what to do with new found equity, can be daunting.”
Needless to say, we’re pretty excited to hear what other thoughts she’ll share at the seminar!
Not only will the seminar tackle the financial elements of downsizing, it will also tackle the emotional aspects of the transition. Dr. Larry Anderson is a recently retired Psychology Professor from Kwantlen Polytechnic University who specialized in courses on Adult Development and Aging. Recently, Dr. Anderson began studying the Psychological effects of Downsizing and Empty Nest Syndrome.
With so much talk about downsizing in Vancouver, this event appears to be the perfect primer on the subject!
The event starts at noon with refreshments and snacks and will end with closing remarks at aproximately 3:30pm. It takes place at Waterstone, a thoughtfully designed project that focuses on details like professional grade kitchen, open concept floor plans and spacious terraces and balconies.
If you’re interested in attending, please RSVP to email@example.com by Wednesday June 13th as space is limited.
